What is the wim hof method (WHM)?

The Wim Hof Method (WHM) is a scientifically proven method that allows anyone the ability to influence the function of their own body through the use of breathing exercises, gradual cold exposure, and commitment.The WHM method was groundbreaking because, for the first time in history, it has been proven to directly influence the autonomic nervous system, immune system, hormonal system, and the overall chemistry of the human body. It is a way to push ourselves between various extremes and has a deep impact on our body and mind. The method forms a training ground for learning to deal with stress and discomfort, increase our resilience, and make us feel Happy, Strong, and Healthy.The breath is powerful and it’s your remote control to the autonomic nervous system. It alkalizes our body and reduces inflammation, quiets the mind, connects us to our emotions/unconsciousness, and has profound physiological effects. Whether you are looking to improve mental or physical performance, relieve symptoms related to an illness, or are just curious to find out what the Wim Hof Method is all about— a WHM Fundamentals workshop is the right option for you! The program generally kicks off with an introduction to the Wim Hof Method, followed by a breathwork session, a short break, and then an (optional) yet encouraged ice bath. At the end, there is ample room for reflection, and the Instructor is there to answer questions throughout the workshop.Instructors have their own specializations, and there is some variation across the individual workshops. A detailed overview of the day is sent out upon registration.If you have no prior experience with cold exposure, we recommend you finish your showers cold in the days leading up to the workshop. This may be overwhelming at first, but just try to relax, focus on keeping your breath, and bring it into a controlled, steady rhythm.
